2019 Mount Ophir Estate Tours

In Rutherglen, Australia a rich history is often right under our noses.

Since May 2016 they have toiled away getting the property renovated for the many guests.

The renovated private events area and luxury accommodation have only been open to the public four times over the past three years.

This 60-minute walking and talking tour is led by owners and siblings Eliza and Nicholas Brown and exploring the history of Mount Ophir Estate from its iconic winery buildings to its extensive accommodation options.

This tour is a particularly good fit for heritage buffs and architecture enthusiasts, with in-depth coverage of the purchase of the property and its ongoing restoration. 

The next Mount Ophir Estate tour dates are:

  • Saturday 27th of July 11am

  • Saturday 24th of August 11am

  • Saturday 21st of September 11am

  • Saturday 26th of October 11am

The tour session runs through the history of the estate (20 minutes) and then relaxed walk around the estate and inside the main winery buildings (40 minutes).

Tours are limited to 20 people.

There is a $10 charge per person which is donated to the Rutherglen Historical Society for the ongoing preservation of Rutherglen's long history.

Requirements for Entry

You must have a ticket to gain entry to the estate, tickets are not available at the gate and the gates will be closed during tour times.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No minimum age requirements, but you must be agile enough to walk and stand for one hour. Children must be supervised at all times.

What should I wear?

As we will be walking and talking for one hour please wear comfortable shoes, a hat if it's a warm weather day and please bring an umbrella if there is chance of rain.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Plenty of parking available, there are taxis and limousines available.

What's the refund policy?

Your ticket is fully refundable up to seven days prior.
