We arrived for a girls weekend on a chilly Friday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to arrive to a warm, cosy and clean house. The split system heaters were on, ensuring the house was warm for our arrival.

We couldn't fault our stay, beautiful surrounds, close to Rutherglen and all the wineries and restaurants, helpful and responsive host, Mount Ophir estate to explore, two big comfy beds and a huge stack of firewood for us to enjoy the wood fire. Highly recommend!

The Residence

Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Residence. It's a beautiful, spacious grand old home with all the modern features which made staying there such a pleasure.

The bedrooms were all meticulously prepared and the beds were very comfortable. We all enjoyed the property and admiring all the stunning historical buildings. The kids really enjoyed the two fabulous swings in the huge tree.

Winemakers Cottage

Winemakers Cottage was a beautiful cosy loft with everything we wanted for a relaxing weekend getaway. The history of the winery and the Thesis on Mount Ophir Estate was an exceptional touch that added depth and breadth to our stay, providing insight of the rich viticultural history of the area.

Being 10 mins out of Rutherglen, the peaful surrounds provided unmatched serenity at sunset. My partner and I enjoyed a few glasses while on the swings.

This property is full of character in the best sense, The original building has been modernised where necessary and the remainder nicely preserved. The kitchen is large and well equipped, the bathroom is large and excellent. We enjoyed our stay in what is a very tranquild, rural setting. We'd thoroughly recommend staying here.

The Residence

Perfect stay in the lovely Residence on the grounds of the striking former winery complex of Mount Ophir. The house has been beautifully maintained and its lovely high ceilings, spacious light-filled rooms with gorgeous large windows and doors onto the verandah create a sense of serenity and calm.

Period features are complemented by modern comforts. The massive well-equipped kitchen had everything we needed including a lovely old cast iron oven retro-fitted for electricity.

Great place to base ourselves. Next time we will stay longer!

The Gatehouse

Super peaceful stay in Rutherglen. We had a great time sitting around, making BBQ dinners and playing board games. Felt like a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of life. Only 5 minutes from the town centre. Can't wait to come back!
